When in doubt, use Lavender!!

If you were confined to a desert island and could only have one essential oil with you, then dōTERRA’s lavender essential oil would be it! Why? Because it has always been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need. If in doubt, use lavender.
While many brands of lavender essential oil are distilled from the stems, leaves, and flowers of the plant, dōTERRA uses only the flowering top. Our lavender is sourced from where it grows best, Haute Provence in France. It is harvested at the height of its bloom and steam distilled to produce the finest lavender essential oil available. It is so pure, it can actually be taken internally.
Essential oils have been used for thousands of years by physicians and priests; they were, essentially, mankind’s first medicine. There were even Egyptian temples dedicated to the production and blending of the oils and recipes were recorded on the walls in hieroglyphics. While essential oils were used fairly regularly until the late 1800′s, when modern science evolved synthetic chemicals soon replaced the botanical ingredients in medicines and beauty products.
We have René-Maurice Gattenfossé to thank for the modern revival of lavender and other essential oils. He was a French chemist and perfumer working in the 1920′s and is said to have come up with the phrase aromatherapy. One day while experimenting in his laboratory he severely burned his hand, and immediately plunged it into a bowl of the nearest liquid; which happened to be lavender oil.
He noticed his hand healed very rapidly and without scarring, so after his quick recovery he dedicated the rest of his life to researching the therapeutic aspects of essential oils. His studies have helped to revive an ancient, almost forgotten art.
The properties of lavender oil are almost miraculous. The high bio-chemical constituents of natural alcohols: linalol, geraniol, nerol, to name a few; as well as esters, monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and phenols address a wide range of ailments. From digestive disorders, earaches, respiratory illnesses, skin disorders, sore throats, muscular aches and injuries, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, to healing cuts, bruises, insect bites, and boosting your immune system, lavender works its magic.
There are many clinical studies to substantiate all of these benefits as well as acne, allergies, cell renewal, hair loss, herpes, insomnia; it lowers blood pressure, works as a lymphatic drainage, helps with hormone balance, nausea, stretch marks, tachycardia (increased heart rate), thrush, and water retention.
It also activates the pineal gland, which produces melatonin, and is excellent for insomnia, depression, headaches, asthma, gallstones, hysteria and infection, and will take a bee sting down in a matter of minutes!
For beauty benefits lavender oil calms and soothes the skin. It balances oil production, helps heal blemishes, and stimulates circulation to the skin. It also soothes any disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, and other types of dermatitis; regulates the scalp and helps repair damaged or overprocessed hair.
Not only does dōTERRA’s lavender oil smell heavenly it works wonders for the whole body, and is so gentle it can even be used on infants. You can purchase our lavender oil in a single 15 ml bottle, as part of the Intro Kit, or in the Family Physician Kit

Medicine Cabinet Makeover

VS.

You might be asking yourself  "Why do I even need essential oils when I can just go to the Doctor?" The reason is: Essential Oils are a safer, more natural approach to medicine with no side affects.  Eighty percent of the time your illness is a viral infection and there is no "over the counter" medicine to combat a virus, however, Essential Oils have several studies showing there ability to kill a viral infection. You don't have to worry about expiration dates or drug recalls.

Every home needs ten basic essential oils. I was introduced to doTERRA essential oils about 7 months ago and this kit has been able to take care of everything we have encountered.  It has completely replaced my medicine cabinet.  Here are a few ways that I have had success in using the oils in this kit:

1.  Lavender - It is the most versatile and popular oil. It is great for burns and takes aways pain and blistering fast! It works very well as a sleep aid and it has a very calming effect. It also works as a natural antihistamine and provides relief from insect bites. Rub on your feet each night for relaxation, or headache relief.

2.  Lemon - Use a drop of lemon every day in your water to keep your body acid free (alkaline). Lemon helps clean your lymphatic system.  It is excellent for sore throats-- just place a drop on your tongue or gargle with lemon water. You can also use it as a cleaning agent. Lemon oil will clean ninety-nine percent of bacteria.

3.  Peppermint - It has been double-blind studied against Tylenol and was proven to be just as effective in treating headaches.  Peppermint Oil was reported by the Mayo Clinic as being one of the most promising treatments for I.B.S.  It is fantastic for digestive issues and when inhaled it will stimulate the brain to increase alertness.

4.  Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil) - This is fantastic for acne since most acne medications are antibacterial creams, melaleuca is antibacterial.  It is also great for most skin conditions: general rashes, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, and MRSA.  You can rub it on your head to control dandruff and on your chest for coughs.

5.  Deep Blue  -  It reduces inflammations and relieves sore muscles and back aches.  Use this oil on all sport related injuries and will also relieve headaches.

6. Oregano - It is your heaviest fighter oil with several studies proving its ability to kill MRSA (staph infection). It is one of the most important oils to use when fighting any infection. It is a very hot oil and must be diluted with any carrier oil (Coconut Oil, Olive Oil) to apply topically.

7. On Guard - This oil helps to strengthen your immune system.  This is great for disinfecting via a diffuser.  Rub this on your feet every night for cold prevention or just a drop on the tongue. Use for everyday prevention or when you start feeling that sluggish flu feeling.

8.  Breathe - Use this oil from respiratory infections, coughs, or asthma symptoms.  Rub it on your chest to help combat congestion.  Rub on chest and under your nostrils to help with snoring.  Unlike other Vapor Rubs, Breathe will actually assist your body in fighting off the infection.

9.  DigestZen - this blend will work for any digestive disorder: Acid Reflux, heartburn, diarrhea, Constipation, IBS, etc. Rub four drops of DigestZen on your stomach for all the above.  Seventy percent of your immune function is through your GI so if you have a compromised GI you have a compromised immune system. Using DigestZen will help strengthen immune system.

10. Frankincense - this oil contains sesquiterpenes, enabling it to go beyond the blood-brain barrier.  It may help oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands.  Many people belief it helps with anxiety and depression.  Several studies have been done on Frankincense and its ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
The list goes on.....

ON GUARD!

OnGuard™ in an essential oil blend formulated by dōTERRA® that is a powerful immune system defense. A blend of five essential oils are combined to provide an extremely potent combo designed (and proven) to kill harmful bacteria, mold, and viruses. This blend can be diffused into the air, taken internally, applied topically, and even used for household cleaning.
What makes it so potent? These individual essential oils.
1. Wild Orange: antibacterial, antifungal, antidepressant, and antiseptic. Its effectiveness against colds and flu is exceptional. It also tastes delicious.
2. Clove Bud: antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-parasitic, antiviral, a strong antiseptic, and an immune stimulant. Very high in anti-oxidants, and may influence healing and protection.
3. Cinnamon Bark: has very specific purposes in that it is a powerful oxygenator, and purifier, and also enhances the activity of other oils. It has a stimulating and toning effect on the whole body, particularly the circulatory system. As well, it is a very effective blood sugar regulator. Its properties include: antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-parasitic, antiviral, antiseptic, antimicrobial, and    an immune stimulant, as well as warming. Again, it tastes amazing!
4. Eucalyptus Radiata: Strong antiviral effect upon the respiratory system. It is also a strong antibacterial, anticatarrhal (expectorant that removes excess mucus from the respiratory system), and is antiseptic.
5. Rosemary: analgesic, antibacterial, anticatarrhal, antifungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. Is excellent for colds and flu for all the above reasons, also stimulating to the nervous system, improves circulation, reduces mental fatigue, energizes the solar plexus, and may help balance heart function.
Given that essential oils are x50 to x70 more potent than dried herbs, one can see that this blend will help not only treat an existing condition and knock it out, but act as a powerful preventative for active viruses and bacteria.
USAGE:
To use, you can diffuse 5 drops in the doTERRA Lotus diffuser, add a couple of drops to water and drink, put 3 drops in a gel cap and take with a glass of water, or apply a couple of drops to the soles of the feet. The latter would be ideal for children.
As the strength of this blend can be too hot for the skin (apart from bottoms of the feet), dilute a few drops with some vegetable oil and apply to the thymus gland (just below the center of the collar bones) to stimulate the immune system, massage under the arms to stimulate the lymph, or over the abdomen. Rub both hands together and inhale. Inhaling is very effective and takes the tiny but potent oil molecules straight into the system.
As well, you can use the OnGuard™ blend to clean surfaces in the house by diluting with water in a spray bottle and wiping counters. Other products in the OnGuard™ line include throat protecting lozenges, hand wash, and sanitizing hand wipes.
I know people who have been surrounded by ill folks and used OnGuard™ consistently and escaped getting colds and flu. It is also useful for food poisoning or other bacterial infections. Great for plane travel or any public exposure. And wonderful for school kids, too.
Available as part of the Family Physician Kit, or as a single 15 ml bottle. Throat drops, hand wipes & hand soap available.

Pure Essential Oils or over-the-counter drugs??

Considering all of the major recalls that have been conducted this past year on our children's over the counter medicines, I feel it is time to introduce you to a safer alternative.  For the past six months, I have been using doTERRA essential oils on my family when illness has hit our home instead of cough syrups, fever reducers, & pain relievers.  Guess what?  My natural remedies really work!  I no longer have to worry about the harmful side effects that can come from using synthetic products.

doTERRA essential oils never expire, don't have synthetics and are safe for everyone from newborns to elderly.

Why wouldn't you want the BEST for the one's you LOVE the most!
